Ramadan + Summer + Texas Heat = Parched Throat!
Watermelon Juice + Coconut Water + Lime Juice = Happy Hydrated Me!
This is the most refreshing drink I’ve ever made at home. So simple and so good for you! It’s the perfect drink to make for Iftar instead of the sugary toxic filled Rooh Afza or similar syrup drinks most people consume during Ramadan.
Coconut water is a great thrist quencher and has a plethora of nutrients and other benefits.
Watermelon is a food mentioned by the Prophet, salallahu alayhi wasallam, for its coolness. You can find out more about the benefits of watermelon here.
Ingredients:
1 small watermelon
4 cups organic coconut water
2 limes
Juice the watermelon. If you do not have a juicer, you can blend in a blender and strain the juice out. Mix in coconut water and lime juice.
**If the watermelon is not sweet enough for you, you can add honey or agave syrup. Add ice and enjoy!
