My husband made these Indian style french toasts for breakfast one day. It’s basically like an omelet dipped in bread. His mom used to make them for him as a kid. It was a hit with my five year old and I! Since then, it’s been a regular in our house for breakfast! The best part is, you can add whatever you want to these! Here’s how we make them:
Ingredients:
- 2-3 slices of bread, well toasted
- 2 Eggs
- Handful of chopped cilantro
- 1 stalk of green onions, chopped
- 2 green chilis, optional
- Pinch of turmeric
- 1/4 tsp Red chili powder
- 1/4 tsp ginger garlic paste
- Salt and pepper to taste
Mix all of the above ingredients except for the bread.
Dip both sides of the bread in the egg mixture.
Heat some oil in a pan. Fry both sides of the bread until egg is well cooked. I like to make mine crispy, so I fry it for a bit longer. Enjoy with a side of ketchup or hot sauce! Yum!!!
Interesting recipe! I’ve always had French toast as a sweet dish. It’s nice to have savoury for a change.

You can add garlic salt. Just omit the regular salt then.
