I’ve been seeing those “You’ve Been Boiling Pasta Wrong your Whole Life” posts on my Facebook feed lately and decided to put the claim to the test. I make pasta at least twice a week, it’s seriously the easiest thing to make when my mind blanks out on what to make for dinner. My kids also can’t get enough of it, if they had their way they would have pasta for every meal.
Let us begin the experiment, shall we?
Take a large skillet or fry pan and fill it 3/4 way full. Turn the stove on medium-high and add in the pasta to the cold water. I had to cut it in half because it wouldn’t fit. Add in a few pinches of salt.
OMG in less than 10 minutes, my pasta was perfectly cooked!! I was so shocked that this nifty little trick worked – there was no sticking and I was left over with a little starch which you can just keep in, or drain. I saved so much water too, because I normally fill a large stockpot up to the top with water. Seriously, this shortcut is revolutionary.
TRY IT – IT REALLY WORKS!
