Chicken Chappli Kababs

  • 1 lb. ground chicken breast or thigh
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 stalks of green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, deseeded and diced
  • Small bunch of coriander leaves, chopped
  • 2 green chillies, chopped (optional)
  • 1.5 TB ginger garlic paste
  • 1.5 tsp coriander seeds, crushed
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds, crushed
  • 1 tsp ground anar dana (pomegranate seeds)
  • 1 tsp dried red chili (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp. black pepper powder
  • 2 tsp cornflour
  • Oil for frying
  1. Mix all your ingredients, except for oil, into the ground chicken.
  2. Shape the chicken into thin patties. If your are making burgers, make them a little thicker.
  3. Place in freezer for a few minutes until hard.
  4. Heat oil in a fry pan over medium heat. Shallow fry until golden brown. Alternatively, you can grill them or bake them at 375 for about 5 minutes each side. Drain on paper towel.
  5. Garnish with onions, tomatoes, and cilantro.
  6. Serve with naan and yogurt chutney. They can also be eaten as burgers or with rice and dal/chutney.
